The ID. Cross sits in a Volkswagen factory while engineers carry out final tests around it. A man walks into frame.

The lead engineer says, “Ah, here’s the expert for the customer excitement check!”

The Chief Excitement Officer says, “Wow!” and eagerly walks over to the ID. Cross before opening the passenger door.

Inside the car, we see the dashboard as the Chief Excitement Officer selects the song “I’m So Excited” by The Pointer Sisters. The song starts playing.

Two engineers observe with interest from behind the car.

The Chief Excitement Officer runs his hand over the interior door trim, over a badge reading “Volkswagen,” and says, “Exciting!”

He steps back out of the ID. Cross and gestures excitedly toward the engineers, who look confused.

He rolls over to the alloy wheel, nodding in approval. A text animation appears: “Optional alloy wheels of up to 20".”

The engineers and the Chief Excitement Officer get into the ID. Cross — the lead engineer driving, the Chief Excitement Officer in the passenger seat.

The lead engineer gestures to the digital display. The Chief Excitement Officer looks impressed. A text animation appears: “Digital Cockpit Pro and optional 12.9“ Innovision Pro.”

The ID. Cross drives through the Volkswagen factory, passing employees.

The Chief Excitement Officer looks up and notices another ID. Cross suspended from the factory ceiling. The backseat engineers exchange impressed looks. A text animation appears: “Optional panoramic sunroof for extended views.”

A text animation appears: “Optional IQ.LIGHT LED matrix headlights.” The car enters a dark tunnel. The IQ.LIGHT Headlights illuminates the way as the camera moves behind the vehicle, revealing the red rear lights. 

The Chief Excitement Officer dances in his seat as the engineers begin to share his excitement.

A montage shows the ID. Cross driving dynamically through the factory.

Inside the car, everyone is now dancing together as excitement spreads through the group.

The ID. Cross continues through different factory areas, passing vehicles in production.

The Chief Excitement Officer puts on an eye mask and hands one to the driver. The music stops. He activates the massage seats. A text animation appears: “Optional power-adjustable front seats with massage programs.”

The lead engineer relaxes into the seat, enjoying the massage function.

The ID. Cross is parked inside an assembly-line tunnel.

The Chief Excitement Officer attaches a trailer to the ID. Cross’s tow bar. A text animation appears: ”Optional tow bar to carry up to 1,200kg.“

A faint piano solo plays. The lead engineer removes his eye mask and notices the Chief Excitement Officer is no longer in the car. The others look around, surprised.

The Chief Excitement Officer plays the piano solo from “I’m So Excited” by The Pointer Sisters on a white piano mounted on the trailer, pointing excitedly toward the engineers as he plays.

The engineers dance to the rhythm of the music.

The ID. Cross continues driving through the factory while everyone in the car dances to the music.

The car stops inside the factory. The steering wheel turns by itself as Park Assist activates. The Chief Excitement Officer claps. A text animation appears: “Optional Park Assist Pro with memory-function.” The vehicle parks itself on a platform.

The engineers step out of the car, distracted by something off-screen.

The Chief Excitement Officer dances on an arcade machine powered by the ID. Cross.

The lead engineer joins in dancing, then becomes slightly self-conscious as another engineer notices.

The ID. Cross drives off the platform while everyone continues dancing in the background. A text animation appears: “The all-new electric ID. Cross. Built with excitement.” The Volkswagen logo appears. Voice-over: “Volkswagen.”
